The concept of 360stories relates to the early stage of creation of
feature 360-degree film stories. The trials of different methods are gathered on this website. Most of the movies
were recorded using spherical video cameras (Ladybug2 and Ladybug3) and present stories by the application of
the same or similar techniques of presenting narratives as in the early cinema and characterise the following features:
- the application of commentary of a lecturer
- creation of travel genre movies
- lack of advanced video editing
- lack of actors
- lack of dialogues
The research about merging video panoramas and narratives continues.
I would like to express my gratitude towards ICCI from the University of Plymouth for their support in the creation video panoramas presented on this website.
You are welcome to upload your 360story to this website.
This YouTube video explains one of the methods of gathering 360stories:
ROTATO POTATO
The allotment is mutating! Take control of delirious vegetables as up to 4
players go head to head in a madcap race around a 62 meter panoramic
screen.
In what is possibly the first purpose-built 360 degree video game ever,
Rotato Potato is set in a vegetable dystopia, where excessive GM
modification has caused the allotments vegetables to mutate. Players must
use speed, cunning and power-ups to outwit their opponents, while
navigating the chaos of a level rotating in the opposite direction!
